The winery with kids guide 101.

One of the hardest things about becoming parents for us was trying to find the balance between kid focused activities and adult activities. How do you make time as a couple but also take your kids with you? I don't know how many of you live near family or have a baby sitter. We have hardly ever lived near family. We move so frequently that we don't have the time to create a relationship with any potential babysitters....... So, we had to become creative.
“You picked your spouse for a reason, don't let the day to day kids activities get in the way of each other. Find ways to day date with your kids.”
One thing we really enjoy is wine tasting. I mean who doesn't enjoy going and sipping on wine, am I right? We have finally, after 4 years and two wild boys, perfected the parent wine tasting adventure.
First things first.... if you are new to an area or just new to wine tasting in general, you need to make sure you find a "family friendly" winery. Not all wineries allow kids, so this is extremely important.

Second, I look for a winery with the best ratings. Easy peasy, just google them or use Yelp to do your research. Going wine tasting is already such a nice experience on so many levels. The wine, the view (hopefully it's a good one), and great company. Enjoying the wine you are drinking is a big factor. Plus, I don't know about you.....but I sure like to take a bottle or two home with me!
Third, we really only go wine tasting on certain days. No, I don't mean day of the week. We have started looking for wineries that have an outside space. The most recent winery we went to had a family friendly yard and an adults only yard. It was AMAZING! Groups of moms were there with their kids all running around everywhere, Owen even got to play baseball with a few of the other boys who were there. A lot of wineries these days even have food trucks parked on their property. Personally having a food truck option saves me from having to plan for lunch. #Bullrunwinery has a gourmet quesadilla truck there (its amazing if you haven't been). It's so easy, you order a couple sodas and quesadillas and BOOM lunch is done! We get a bottle of wine, lay out a blanket with toys for the boys and spend some quality adult time together with our boys.

Fresh air, time out of the house, time together and time with your spouse. There is a bonus too....... Wine!

Go out and adventure! My wonderful husband always says to "broaden the line of your comfort zone in order to grow and to live!"
Until the next mess,
Dana
